“Students learn the knowledge, skills, dispositions and practices of effective school leaders.”
What types of projects can online students expect in your course?
Students will read current literature focused on understanding school leadership, write papers which compare/contrast current educational practices with the research base on school leadership, participate in problem-solving discussion boards, write journal entries that reflect application of concepts presented in videos, and prepare admission portfolio papers and responses to the admission interview questions and prompts.
What do you want students to learn in these courses? What is the expected learning outcome?
Students learn the knowledge, skills, dispositions and practices of effective school leaders. The expected learning outcome is for students to assess their capacities in these areas to determine where they have strengths to build upon and where they have areas for targeted growth.
Why did you start teaching?
I started teaching as a member of a four-person interdisciplinary team of teachers in an open-plan school where I had completed my student teaching the previous spring.
Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students might not know about you.
