Admissions

Being admitted to the SIUE online MBA in Management program

Admission to the MBA with a Management Specialization online program is based on a variety of factors including undergraduate grade point average, overall score on the GMAT and its parts (Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing), and previous work in other graduate programs.

Applicants must submit all post-secondary academic transcripts and a $40 application fee. At least two years of work experience is recommended for students entering the MBA program, which is designed for working professionals. Students recently admitted to the program have had, on average, a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.2 and an overall GMAT score of 520.

MBA online admission requirements (based on cumulative undergraduate GPA)

  • 3.20 and above – Bachelor's degree in business or engineering from an AACSB- or ABET-accredited institution
  • 3.00 to 3.19 – Bachelor's degree plus three years of professional work experience
  • 2.50 to 2.99 – Bachelor's degree plus three years of professional work experience or an internship, plus submission of an acceptable GMAT or GRE score

GMAT requirement is waived for applicants who have:

  • 3.20 or greater GPA on an undergraduate degree in business or engineering from an AACSB- or ABET-accredited institution
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, with 3.0 GPA and at least three years of work experience
  • PhD, MD, LLM, DDS, DNP, EdD
  • Master's, PharmD or JD degree

Note: Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in their MBA courses. Students who fall below this minimum will be placed on academic probation and referred to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. If the student is permitted to continue in the program, the conditions for continuance will be put in writing and communicated to the student. In addition, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in order to receive their degree.
