In this accelerated, online business master's program, you will study the theory of information systems analysis and the modeling of the decision-making process used in designing effective information systems. Examine factors such as organizational structure and information requirements within the context of ethical, economic and socio-technical factors that affect the design of systems. In addition to developing technical skills, this program studies the behavioral components and human factors that shape managerial effectiveness.

You can complete your degree in as few as 12 months, with no foundation courses required, regardless of your undergraduate background. Our core course work empowers you with a variety of foundational skills and advanced applications. You will study decision-making, accounting, information systems and technology, managerial economics, corporate finance, quantitative analysis, marketing, and more. Plus, the curriculum includes an embedded capstone course focusing on strategic management.

Within our in-depth MIS electives, you will gain expertise in the role of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software in business environments using SAP, and corresponding risk management approaches. You will study emerging technologies with a strategic-level focus, along with query and procedural language (PL/SQL). You will also broaden your knowledge of database structures, application code, techniques and tools for IT systems analysis and design, process-oriented modeling and structured design concepts, re-engineering business processes, and quality assurance and reliability.

In continuously developing and refining the MBA curriculum, we work closely with some of the region's top business professionals to bring theoretical knowledge and real-world experience into the classroom. Qualifications for our online MBA program

Admission to the MBA with a Management Information Systems Specialization online program is based on a variety of factors including undergraduate grade point average (GPA), professional resume and previous work in other graduate programs.

  • Submission of all postsecondary academic transcripts
  • Successful completion of a bachelor's degree prior to enrollment
  • Minimum GPA of 2.50 in undergraduate coursework and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in any graduate coursework*
  • Current resume demonstrating detailed post-bachelor's degree professional work experience.

  • All applicants with foreign academic credentials whose first language is not English must demonstrate adequate English language proficiency in advance of admission
    • Proof of English Proficiency: minimum requirements are TOEFL (79), IELTS (6.5) or equivalent

*Applicants with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or lower in undergraduate coursework may be required to submit recent GMAT or GRE scores after an initial review of the application. Recently admitted students to the MBA program have had average GMAT scores of 520.

Admission to the MBA program is selective and based on a variety of factors. The program, at its discretion, may request GRE or GMAT test scores, other supporting documents, or interviews that demonstrate the applicant's ability to successfully complete the MBA degree. At least two years of work experience is recommended for students entering the MBA program.

Applicants should have grades in quantitative courses that indicate a high probability of success in completing the MBA program. A review of quantitative courses will be conducted by the MBA program director.

Program application materials may be uploaded during the application process, but official transcripts must be sent directly from the school attended, and test scores must be verifiable with the appropriate testing service. Students who were not admitted may appeal. These appeals are handled by the MBA program director. Students seeking an exception are required to provide the program director with evidence supporting the reason such an exception should be granted. The program director's decision regarding the appeal is final.

Students are expected to enter the program with competencies in computer software and statistics.

Note: Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in their MBA courses. Students who fall below this minimum will be placed on academic probation and referred to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. If the student is permitted to continue in the program, the conditions for continuance will be put in writing and communicated to the student. In addition, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in order to receive their degree.
