In which online degree program do you teach?

  • What types of projects can online students expect in your courses?

    • Presentations via Zoom
    • Research papers
    • Quick feedback BB quizzes and assignments
    • Recorded video presentations
    • Discussion board Q&A for bonus
  • What do you want students to learn in these courses? What is the expected learning outcome?

First, I focus on the little picture. If we do the small things correctly, the big things will work out.

Second, after being able to do the work correctly we step back and see how the system fits together and better understand its strengths and weaknesses.

My courses help improve competency to ensure faithful representation and good business judgment for corporate employers and individual clients, as the case may be.

  • What advice would you give to those considering this online program?

Find a support group. Online students often fail to reach out to others when they would normally find peers to help them in a face-to-face setting. Peers can often save you time and improve your performance in ways faculty cannot.

  • Why did you start teaching?

Always interested in something new, I believe in education, and I really enjoy seeing people succeed.

  • What is the one book you think everyone should read?

Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris for a good laugh.

  • Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students might not know about you.

I have ridden my bicycle across Iowa more than 10 times.
